There are certain things you have to do in work and business. Just because you have to do them, doesn't mean you have to do them the same way as other people.

Does this sound familiar?

  • Struggling to get things done. The unwritten rules, need to switch contexts, and approaches which don't work for you are leaving you drained.
  • Not being able to give your best because of all the "other stuff" you have to do. You're putting in an exhausting level of effort but not getting the results you want.
  • Finding it hard to explain what you do or what you need from others to do your best work. Solutions seem obvious, but you struggle to get others to understand them.

Getting things done as a neurodivergent person (or other unconventional thinker) is tough because the standard ways of doing things aren't designed for you and your brain. It's frustrating and demoralising when however hard you try you just don't get the results others seem to. Once you decide to do things differently, finding a method that does work for you can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack.

There's a lot of info on this page, because I know that's what some of my clients need. If you're not the kind of person to read everything you can, though, just book a call with me and I can talk you through it.

How I can help

I offer a space to help you explore different ways of getting what you want done, finding approaches that are more aligned with who you really are, and bringing you joy and satisfaction with less forcing and effort. This can look like:

  • Learning about how different aspects of neurodiversity apply to you and your current situation.
  • Understanding your own lived experience and what it means for how you approach your work.
  • Experimenting with and adapting different approaches and systems so that they genuinely work for you.
  • Getting clear about your needs and wants, and how to communicate those effectively.
  • Building the confidence to do what really interests and satisfies you, and what will have the greatest impact for others, too.

We do this by looking at how we can support your strengths more fully and create a supportive environment where you can be at your best. It's not about abstract ideas, but about looking at the current difficulties you are facing and experimenting with new ways of engaging with them.

My background in psychology, technology and business means that not only can I ask you questions that help you gain clarity and move forward, but I can also provide useful information and guidance when needed. I offer a neuro-affirming, strengths-based approach throughout the process.

"It’s no exaggeration to say that you have been a significant influence in helping me finding the confidence to be myself, not just in work but also in life. I wasn’t too sure what to expect before I started having sessions with you, I figured maybe I’d learn some time-management or planning skills. Instead, I was provided a space to explore consideration about my needs and wants, something few people in my life had let me know were important.

I think, Matthew, what I have got from working with you is a much brighter future with more potential than I ever could have imagined beforehand. For that, I will always be extremely grateful. Thank you so very much for doing what you do."

How it works

The goal is to move from doing things the normal way to finding approaches that fully support and benefit from the way you think. I offer a structured but flexible approach to get you where you need to be.

Most of my clients like to work to a fixed number of sessions as a programme where we focus on some specific challenges. At the end of those sessions you can choose to continue, refocus, or adapt how we're working (e.g. have monthly check-ins once things are running smoothly). Here's the general process:

--- config: theme: 'base' themeVariables: primaryColor: '#252C42' primaryTextColor: '#fff' primaryBorderColor: '#fff' lineColor: '#A800E5' secondaryColor: '#006100' tertiaryColor: '#fff' fontSize: 18px --- graph LR; A(1. Connection Call) --> B(2. Clarity Session) B --> C(3. The Work) C --> D(4. Wrap-up)
  1. A 30-minute connection call - A low-pressure space for us to meet and explore whether working together is right for both of us. We’ll talk about where you’re feeling friction and see if my approach feels like the right fit. If it turns out I can't help you right now, I'll point you in the direction of anything I know of that can.
  2. An initial clarity session - The first full session we have together is about getting clear on what you most need, and how we can get there. It gives us a solid foundation for the rest of our work together.
  3. The work - With a clear map in hand, we move into our regular sessions. We work through the challenges you're facing right now, using them as examples to find the approaches that give you the confidence to do your best work.
  4. The wrap-up - In our final session we bring the threads together, reviewing the work we've done and the discoveries we made. We end with a clear set of next-steps for you to take into the future.

"After two years of self-study, I felt like I had plateaued and needed outside help to put all this learning into practice. Discovering my neurodivergence gave me a need to review, rebalance, and rebuild the foundation of my career to find a more intrinsic alignment in my work, however doing that work alone felt like a near-impossible task.

As Matthew is one of the most knowledgable people that I know, and also excellent at holding space to safely explore deeply personal challenges, I couldn't think of anyone better to support me. Our sessions were a combination of neuroscience insights and practical tools & processes with emotional support and validation for my lived experience too. My conscious awareness of AuDHD and understanding of self has increased greatly, which allows me to approach challenges at work and in life with more kindness, curiousity, and much more confidence than before."
